Clifton, NJ, February 17, 2020 — Top 100 accounting, tax and business advisory leader, Sax LLP, is proud to announce the winner of the firm’s 3rd Annual Founders’ Award – NJ Sharing Network – for best demonstrating their impact on their beneficiaries.
Sax’s Not-for-Profit Practice initiated the application process and nearly 150 local not-for-profit organizations submitted non-professional videos of a beneficiary of their services speaking to the impact the organization made on their lives. Five (5) independent judges went through the submissions in a thorough, independent review process to determine the winner of $15,000, in addition to 2nd and 3rd place who received volunteer hours donated by Sax employees to support their missions. The winners were announced at the Founders’ Award ceremony which the Top 75 applicants were invited to on January 23, 2020 at Stony Hill Inn in Hackensack, NJ.

3rd Annual Founders’ Award Winner
The 2019 Founders’ Award judges concluded that NJ Sharing Network best demonstrated their impact on their beneficiaries and the organization walked away with $15,000 to support their mission of saving lives through organ and tissue donation.
“NJ Sharing Network is extremely grateful to be the recipient of Sax’s Founders’ Award this year. This gift will empower our efforts and further our commitment to saving lives through innovative transplant research, family support and public education and awareness about the life saving benefits of organ and tissue donation and transplantation,” said Philip S. Kolm, Chairman of the Foundation Board of Trustees for NJ Sharing Network. “Our work is truly vital to the 4,000 New Jersey residents currently awaiting transplantation. Thank you to Sax for the support of our organization and recognizing our efforts to save lives!”
By working closely with hospitals and transplant centers, and increasing awareness with education tools and the media, the number of organs recovered in New Jersey for transplant has quadrupled since NJ Sharing Network was founded in 1987.
“I would love to see more for-profit organizations imitate our Founders’ Award event which is held to celebrate and honor the work of not-for-profit organizations making a difference in our world,” said Todd Polyniak, Head of Sax’s Not-for-Profit Practice. “The for-profit world needs to support the not-for-profit world because their positive impact benefits us all.”
2nd and 3rd Place Winners
In addition to the Founders’ Award winner, the event also recognized 2nd and 3rd place for demonstrating their impact on their beneficiaries.
Second place and the winner of 40 volunteer hours donated by Sax employees to support their mission was awarded to Garden Academy for their efforts towards improving the lives of those affected by autism through professional development efforts, research, and dissemination work.
Third place and the winner of 25 volunteer hours donated by Sax employees to support their mission was awarded to Eden II Programs for their efforts towards supporting people with autism through service, science and passion.
